A brand new stator for the Polaris 440 and 550 carburetted fan-cooled snowmobile range, supplied with the pick-up pulsar coil already fitted. It is a direct replacement for the original unit, so it drops into the factory position and plugs into the standard connectors with no changes to the loom.
This is a twelve-wire assembly carrying the alternator windings, the pick-up pulsar coil and two source coils on one backing, which means a single part restores charging and ignition together. Highest grade lamination materials and highest grade copper windings, resistant to 200 degrees Celsius, are used throughout, and every unit is tested before it is shipped. Part number RM01239.

Will this stator fit without modification?
Yes. It is a direct fit for the listed Polaris 440 and 550 carburetted fan-cooled machines, uses the three original plugs and the factory grommet, and needs no rewiring.
What is included?
The stator, the pick-up pulsar coil, the connectors and the rubber grommet. The recoil housing gasket and the mounting screws are not supplied.
How do I tell whether my old stator has failed?
With the plugs disconnected, check Yellow to Yellow/Red and Yellow to Brown at about 0.4 ohms, White to White/Red at about 190 ohms, and Green to Black/Red and Green to Red at about 14 ohms each, all within plus or minus 20 percent. A winding that is open circuit or shorted to the stator plate has failed.
The machine will not start but the battery charges - can this still be the stator?
Yes. On this assembly the source coils and the pick-up pulsar coil sit on the same plate as the alternator windings, so an ignition fault can appear while charging still works normally. Test the 190 ohm pick-up and the 14 ohm source coils before condemning the CDI.
