Voltage Regulator Rectifier for Yamaha Zuma 50, Vino Classic, XF 50, C3 and Riva 125
Yamaha Zuma 50, Vino Classic, XF 50, C3 and Riva 125, 1985-2019 - supplied with the opposite harness connector - part number RMS020-103963
On a small-capacity Yamaha scooter the charging system has very little slack in it. The stator produces alternating current, the regulator rectifier converts that into direct current for the battery and holds it at a safe voltage, and everything else - ignition, lighting, indicators, starter - depends on that conversion happening cleanly. When the regulator rectifier starts to go, the scooter usually tells you before it strands you: a battery that is flat again after a few days, a headlight that surges with the throttle, an electric start that turns lazy, or a battery case that feels hot and smells acidic because the unit is overcharging it.
This is a brand new aftermarket voltage regulator rectifier supplied as a direct replacement for the original unit. It is plug-and-play and a direct fit, with easy installation and no assembly required, and it is built with a higher grade of electrical components, an improved heat sink and improved charging capability compared with the original equipment part. Every unit is tested before shipping. Importantly, the opposite connector - the plug on the main harness side - is supplied in the box as well, because on these machines that connector is very often found melted, corroded or already defective, and reusing a damaged one is the most common reason a replacement regulator appears to fail straight away.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does this fit without modification?
Yes. It is a direct replacement for the original unit - plug-and-play, direct fit, no assembly required. The body is 69 mm by 77 mm by 28 mm with fixing holes 53 mm apart centre to centre, and it uses a single six-pin plug. Check the number on your existing unit against the cross reference table above before ordering.
What is included in the box?
Two things: the RMS020-103963 voltage regulator rectifier itself, and the opposite connector for the main harness side. That second item matters more than people expect - the harness-side plug on these scooters is frequently melted, corroded or already defective, and fitting a new regulator into a damaged connector simply recreates the fault.
How do I know the old regulator rectifier is the problem?
Measure the DC voltage across the battery terminals with the engine running. A healthy system holds around 14.5 V, plus or minus half a volt. Noticeably less means the battery is not being charged and will keep going flat; more than 15 V means the unit is overcharging and boiling the battery. Lights that pulse with engine speed, a scooter that will not start after standing a few days, or scorch marks and browning around the regulator plug all point the same way.
Why does the improved heat sink matter on a scooter?
A regulator rectifier gets rid of surplus charging energy as heat, and heat is what eventually kills it. Small scooters give these units very little airflow, so the improved heat sink on this part helps it shed that heat more effectively than the original design and run at a lower working temperature. The unit is rated for continuous operation from -20 C to 85 C.
