Voltage Regulator Rectifier with Harness Connector
Honda CH 250, CX 500 / 650, VF 500 / 750 / 1100 and GL 500 / 650 1981-1990 - Part RMS020-104501
A brand new aftermarket voltage regulator rectifier covering a wide span of early 1980s Honda twins and V4s, from the CH 250 scooter through the CX and GL middleweights to the VF 500, 750 and 1100. It is a direct replacement for your original unit: plug-and-play, direct fit, easy installation with no assembly required. Higher grade electrical components are used throughout, the quality exceeds the OEM equipment, and all products shipped are tested.
The seven-wire, two-plug layout matches the original arrangement, with a 300 mm stator lead and a 350 mm battery lead. An additional connector for the main harness side is supplied with the unit. RMSTATOR includes it because on machines of this age these connectors are often melted, corroded or defective and are a major cause of repetitive electrical issues, so fitting a new regulator into a tired plug is a false economy.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will this fit without modification?
Yes. It is a direct fit, plug-and-play replacement using two plugs and seven wires, with 68 mm centre-to-centre fixation holes. No assembly and no wiring changes are needed. Because this part covers several model families, check the number stamped on your original unit against the cross reference table above before ordering.
What is included in the box?
The voltage regulator rectifier unit and an additional connector for the main harness side, so you can renew both halves of the connection at once.
How do I tell whether my old regulator has failed?
With the engine running, measure across the battery terminals. A working system should reach at least 14.5 V +/- 0.5 V. Resting battery voltage means the system is not charging at all; a reading well above 15 V means the regulator is overcharging and will boil the battery dry. On bikes of this age, also inspect the connector pins for browning, corrosion and melted plastic.
Why does one regulator cover so many different Honda models?
Honda used the same charging system architecture and the same seven-wire regulator interface across the CH, CX, VF and GL ranges through the 1980s, which is why a single part carries nine different OEM numbers. The cross reference table lists all of them.
