Voltage Regulator for Suzuki DRZ 400
Suzuki DRZ 400 2000-2004 - Replaces Suzuki 32800-08D00
This is a brand new aftermarket voltage regulator rectifier for the Suzuki DRZ 400 built between 2000 and 2004. It is a direct replacement for the original Suzuki unit and needs no modification to fit: the body measures 70 mm long by 53 mm wide by 23 mm deep, the two mounting holes sit 55 mm apart centre to centre, and the part carries two plugs with five pins and five wires, with a 210 mm stator lead and a 250 mm battery lead exactly as on the factory component.
The regulator rectifier converts the alternating current from the stator into direct current and then holds the charging voltage at a level the battery can accept, dissipating the surplus as heat. On a dual-sport single that spends its life vibrating and running hot it is a well-known wear item. This RMSTATOR replacement uses a higher grade of electrical components than the original equipment and comes pre-tested. The opposite connector, the main harness side half of the plug, is supplied in the box because the original is so frequently found melted, corroded or defective, and fitting a new regulator into a damaged connector simply recreates the fault.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does it fit without modification?
Yes. It is a direct fit, plug-and-play replacement. The two plugs, the five wires, the 210 mm stator lead, the 250 mm battery lead and the 55 mm mounting hole spacing all match the original Suzuki unit, so nothing needs cutting, splicing or assembling.
What is in the box?
The voltage regulator and the opposite connector, which is the main harness side half of the plug. It is included because the original connector on a DRZ of this age is very often melted, corroded or defective.
How do I know my regulator has failed?
Measure the voltage across the battery terminals with the engine running and compare it against the regulated 14.5 V +/- 0.5 V in the specification table. A reading that does not rise above resting battery voltage means the unit has stopped charging; a reading above 15 V means it has stopped regulating. A battery that goes flat overnight, blown bulbs and heat discolouration on the regulator connector all point to the same failure.
Why are the two leads different lengths?
The DRZ 400 routes the stator feed and the battery feed to the regulator from different directions, so the original part uses a 210 mm stator lead and a longer 250 mm battery lead. This replacement copies those lengths so the leads reach their standard connection points without extending or rerouting the harness.
