Regulator Rectifier - RMS020-102654
Aprilia 50, Rieju 50, Beta and Fantic Motor with MotoPlat engine - 1982 to 2010
This is a brand new aftermarket voltage regulator rectifier supplied as a direct replacement for the original unit fitted to Aprilia 50, Rieju 50, Beta and Fantic Motor machines built around the MotoPlat engine. It is plug-and-play, a direct fit and easy to install, with no assembly required. The regulator rectifier converts the alternating current produced by the flywheel magneto into direct current and then caps the charging voltage so the battery, lights and ignition circuit are not exposed to an uncontrolled output.
The unit uses a higher grade of electric components and its quality exceeds the OEM equipment it replaces. All products shipped are tested before dispatch. This is a compact four-wire unit measuring just 46 x 46 x 20 mm with a single four-pin plug and 200 mm wire tails, so it drops into the same space as the original on these small-capacity machines. Its rated output of 20 A / 150 W is matched to the modest charging demand of a 50 cc magneto system rather than the higher-output alternators found on larger motorcycles.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does anything need modifying to fit this regulator?
No. It is a plug-and-play, direct fit replacement and no assembly is required. The housing measures 46 x 46 x 20 mm and the single plug carries 4 pins and 4 wires with 200 mm tails, so it connects in place of the original unit.
What do I receive?
You receive the regulator rectifier unit itself, tested before shipment. No additional harness-side connector is listed for this part number.
How do I tell whether my old regulator has failed?
With the engine running, the charging voltage at the battery should reach 14.5 V +/- 0.5 V. If the reading stays low and the battery drains, or climbs above the 15 V open circuit limit and cooks bulbs and the battery, the regulator rectifier is the usual culprit. Repeatedly blown headlight bulbs on these small machines are a classic symptom of an unregulated output.
Why is the rated output lower than on larger motorcycles?
This unit is rated at 20 A / 150 W rather than the 50 A / 500 W of bigger units because it is matched to the MotoPlat flywheel magneto systems used on these 50 cc and small-capacity machines. Its rating suits that charging system correctly, and it operates from -20°C to 85°C.
