Voltage Regulator Rectifier for Aprilia RSV4 1000 and RSV 1000 Tuono V4
Aprilia RSV4 1000 and RSV 1000 Tuono V4 - 2011-2017
This is a brand new aftermarket voltage regulator rectifier for the Aprilia RSV4 1000 and the RSV 1000 Tuono V4, built between 2011 and 2017. It is a direct replacement for the original unit: it turns the alternating current from the stator into the direct current the bike's battery and electronics run on, and it holds that output steady so the battery charges properly instead of being over-driven. Fitting is plug-and-play, using the original mountings and connectors, with no assembly, cutting or splicing required.
The unit uses a higher grade of electrical components than the original part and carries an improved heat sink, which raises its charging capability and helps it shed the heat that kills the standard regulator on these V4 machines. The manufacturer states that the quality exceeds the OEM equipment, and every unit is tested before it is shipped. It has two plugs carrying seven pins on seven wires, holds a minimum charging voltage of 14.5 V plus or minus 0.5 V and handles up to 50 A / 500 W.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to modify anything to fit this?
No. It is a direct fit replacement for the original regulator, with the same two plugs, seven pins and mounting holes 80 mm apart centre to centre. No assembly, cutting or splicing is required.
What is included?
You receive the voltage regulator rectifier unit with its two plugs already fitted on seven wires, in lengths of 150 mm and 400 mm.
How do I know my old regulator has failed?
Check the voltage at the battery terminals with the engine running. A working charging system holds roughly 14.5 V. If the reading sits at battery voltage or drops as the revs rise, the regulator is no longer charging. If it climbs well past 15 V, it is no longer regulating and will damage the battery.
What does the improved heat sink change?
Heat is the usual cause of regulator failure on these machines. The larger heat sink on this unit sheds more of it, which is why the manufacturer lists it as giving enhanced charging capability compared with the original design. The unit is rated to run between -20 C and 85 C.
