Brand new voltage regulator rectifier, supplied as a direct replacement to your original unit on the Sea-Doo 780 GTX and GSX, the Sea-Doo 951 GTX and RX, and the Can-Am DS 650. It is plug-and-play, direct fit and easy to install, with no assembly required, so the two existing plugs connect straight to the new unit and the loom does not need to be cut or spliced.
The unit is built with a higher grade of electric components than the original and has an improved heat sink and improved charging capabilities, so the quality exceeds the OEM equipment. All products shipped are tested. It holds a minimum charging voltage of 14.5 V +/- 0.5 V, carries a maximum charging current of 50 A / 500 W, keeps open circuit voltage below 15 V and operates across -20°C to 85°C, which matters on a personal watercraft where the unit sits in a hot, damp engine bay. It replaces OEM part numbers 278001241 and 278001554.

How do I know my old regulator has failed?
With the engine running, the charging system should hold 14.5 V +/- 0.5 V at the battery. A battery that never charges, or one that gasses and boils because the voltage climbs past the 15 V open circuit figure, points to the regulator rectifier. On a watercraft, check the connectors for salt corrosion at the same time, as a high resistance joint will overheat the new unit.
Does the same part cover both the Sea-Doo craft and the Can-Am DS 650?
