Regulator Rectifier for Kawasaki KVF 300 Brute Force 2012-2023
Kawasaki KVF 300 Brute Force - 2012 to 2023 - Replaces OEM 21066-Y002 - Part RMS020-104493
This is a brand new aftermarket voltage regulator rectifier for the Kawasaki KVF 300 Brute Force, built as a direct replacement for the original unit carrying Kawasaki part number 21066-Y002. The regulator rectifier turns the alternating current produced by the stator into the direct current the battery and the rest of the electrical system can use, and then holds that output at a controlled voltage so the battery is charged rather than cooked. It is one of the hardest working electrical components on the machine and a common failure point once an ATV has seen a few seasons of heat, vibration and water.
Installation is plug-and-play and direct fit - no assembly and no modification are required. The unit measures 80 mm by 80 mm by 30 mm, mounts on fixings 30 mm centre to centre and carries two plugs with six pins and six wires on 650 mm leads. Higher grade electrical components are used throughout, so the quality exceeds the original equipment specification, and every unit is tested before it is shipped. The opposite connector for the main harness side is included, because these plugs are so often melted, corroded or otherwise defective and are themselves a major cause of repeat electrical faults.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will it fit my Brute Force without modification?
Yes. It is a direct fit, plug-and-play replacement for the original unit on the KVF 300 Brute Force from 2012 to 2023. It uses the original two plugs with six pins and mounts on fixings 30 mm centre to centre, so nothing needs cutting, drilling or assembling. Confirm that your existing unit carries OEM number 21066-Y002 before ordering.
What is included?
One brand new aftermarket voltage regulator rectifier, tested before dispatch, plus the opposite connector for the main harness side. That extra connector is supplied because the original harness plugs are frequently melted or corroded, and a damaged plug will keep causing charging problems even after a new regulator is fitted.
How do I know the old regulator rectifier has failed?
Put a meter across the battery terminals with the engine running and warmed up. The reading should settle at around 14.5 V. If it stays down at resting battery voltage the unit is not charging; if it runs well above 15 V it is no longer regulating and will boil the battery and blow bulbs. Check the harness plug at the same time for discolouration, melting or green corrosion.
What output can this unit handle?
It is rated to a maximum charging current of 50 A / 500 W, with a minimum charging voltage of 14.5 V +/- 0.5 V and an open circuit voltage below 15 V. The operating temperature range is -20 C to 85 C, so it copes with both cold starts and sustained hot running.
