This is a new replacement voltage regulator rectifier covering a broad span of Kawasaki models - Ninja, Eliminator, Vulcan, Zephyr and Bayou - built between 1984 and 2023. It is a direct replacement for the original unit and installs plug-and-play, using the same single six-pin plug and the same 70 mm mounting hole spacing as the factory part.
The unit rectifies the alternating current coming from the stator into direct current and regulates the charging voltage so the battery receives a controlled charge and the electrical system is not exposed to spikes. Compared with the original equipment it offers an improved heat sink and improved charging capability, and it is built from a higher grade of components than the part it replaces - which matters, because heat is what finishes off most factory regulators. It is rated at 35 A / 400 W maximum charging current. The opposite connector for the main harness side is supplied with the unit, so a melted or corroded harness plug can be renewed at the same time.
