A brand new aftermarket voltage regulator rectifier for the big Kawasaki Vulcan twins, supplied as a direct replacement for the original unit. The regulator rectifier converts the alternating current generated by the stator into direct current for the battery and the rest of the electrical system, and then limits the charging voltage so that the battery is not overcharged as revs rise. On a heavy cruiser with a large charging system, the regulator works hard and gets hot, and it is a frequent failure point. This is a substantial unit at 100 mm long, 80 mm wide and 32 mm high, with fixing holes 80 mm apart centre to centre and 533 mm of wire, and it uses two plugs carrying nine pins across nine wires. It holds a minimum charging voltage of 14.5 V plus or minus 0.5 V, will pass up to 50 A or 500 W, keeps open circuit voltage below 15 V, and is rated to operate from -20 degrees C up to 85 degrees C. RMSTATOR also supplies the opposite connector on the main harness side, because those connectors are often melted, corroded or defective and are a major cause of repeat electrical faults.
