This is a brand new voltage regulator rectifier, part number RM30027, built as a direct replacement for the original unit used across Moto-Ski, Rupp, Skiroule, Boa-Ski and Sno-Jet snowmobiles from 1973 to 1982, and on Polaris machines from 1987 to 2003. It is a plug-and-play, direct fit part, so no assembly is required before installation. This is a compact single-wire unit: one plug, one pin and one wire of 110 mm, in a body measuring 47 mm wide by 48 mm long by 22 mm high, so it drops into the same tight mounting space as the original part on these older sleds. Electrically it provides a minimum charging voltage of 14.5 V plus or minus 0.5 V, handles a maximum charging current of 25 A / 300 W, holds open circuit voltage below 15 V and operates from -20 C to 85 C. Because the machines this part fits are decades old, it is worth going through the charging circuit before fitting: check the AC output of the stator, replace any burned or corroded connectors, check and repair any melted or brittle wiring, and use hi-temp dielectric grease on the connections.
