Voltage Regulator Rectifier RM30Y02 for Sea-Doo
Sea-Doo 720 SP and 800 GSX, GTX, SP, SPX, XP and Challenger - 1995-1999
Brand new aftermarket voltage regulator rectifier, supplied as a direct replacement for the original unit fitted to Sea-Doo personal watercraft built between 1995 and 1999. It is a plug-and-play, direct fit part - no assembly is required and no modification to the standard wiring loom is needed. The unit is built with a higher grade of electrical components than the original and uses an improved heat sink for better thermal performance and charging capability. The quality exceeds the OEM equipment, and every unit is tested before it is shipped.
The regulator rectifier converts the alternating current produced by the stator into direct current and holds the charging voltage at a level that is safe for the battery and the rest of the electrical system. On a personal watercraft the unit works hard in a hot, damp engine bay, and when it fails the usual symptoms are a battery that will not hold charge between outings, a battery that boils or gasses, or a charging voltage that either never rises above resting battery voltage or climbs well past 15 volts. This unit delivers a minimum charging voltage of 14.5 V +/- 0.5 V and a maximum charging current of 25 A / 300 W, with open circuit voltage held below 15 V.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to modify the wiring to fit this unit?
No. This is a plug-and-play, direct fit replacement for the original unit and no assembly is required. It uses four plugs and 4 pins, matching the original connections.
What is supplied?
One brand new aftermarket voltage regulator rectifier, part number RM30Y02, tested before dispatch. No additional connectors or fitting hardware are listed with this part.
How do I tell whether my old regulator rectifier has failed?
Measure the voltage across the battery terminals with the engine running. A healthy charging system should show around 14.5 V. A reading that stays at resting battery voltage suggests the unit is no longer charging, while a reading above 15 V suggests it is no longer regulating and is overcharging the battery.
Will it fit the original mounting bracket?
Yes. The body measures 45 mm by 55 mm by 22 mm and the two fixation holes are 60 mm apart centre to centre, matching the original mounting. The wires are 93 mm long.
