Voltage Regulator Rectifier for Sea-Doo 800
800 GSX, 800 XP, Challenger & Speedster - 1997-1999 - Part RM30917
This is a brand new aftermarket voltage regulator rectifier, supplied as a direct replacement for the original unit fitted to the Sea-Doo 800 GSX and 800 XP watercraft and to the Challenger and Speedster boats built between 1997 and 1999. It is plug-and-play and a direct fit, so it uses the original mounting holes at 60 mm centre to centre and the original two plugs, and no assembly is required before fitting.
The unit is built with a higher grade of electric components and carries an improved heat sink with improved charging capabilities, so its quality exceeds the OEM equipment it replaces. It carries five wires across two plugs, with leads of 100 mm and 120 mm, and regulates to a minimum charging voltage of 14.5 V plus or minus 0.5 V at up to 25 A or 300 W. All products shipped are tested. On a machine that spends its life in a wet engine bay, a fresh regulator with a proper heat sink is one of the cheapest ways to protect the battery and the rest of the charging system.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does it fit without modification?
Yes. It is a direct fit with the original 60 mm centre to centre mounting holes and the original two-plug, five-pin connection. No assembly, cutting or splicing is required.
What is included?
One voltage regulator rectifier with five wires across two plugs, on leads of 100 mm and 120 mm. Fixings are not supplied because the original mounting hardware is reused.
How do I tell whether my old regulator has failed?
Measure charging voltage at the battery with the engine running. A healthy system should reach at least 14.5 V plus or minus 0.5 V while keeping the open circuit voltage under 15 V. A flat battery after a short run, or a charge reading above 15 V that overheats the battery, both point to the regulator.
Why does this unit have two plugs when other Sea-Doo regulators have one?
The 800 GSX and 800 XP charging circuit uses a five-wire arrangement split across two plugs, with the leads cut to 100 mm and 120 mm. Count the wires on your original unit before ordering - if it has a single three-pin plug it is a different part.
