The RM30010 is a brand new voltage regulator rectifier covering a wide span of Suzuki cruisers and the DR 650 single, from the Boulevard S50 and S83 through the Intruder VS800 and VS1400 to the DR 650 S and SE. It is a direct replacement for the original unit - plug-and-play, direct fit and easy to install, with no assembly required. The quality exceeds the OEM equipment, the heat sink and charging capabilities are improved on the original design, and a higher grade of electrical component is used throughout.
This is a long, slim unit: 50 mm wide, 145 mm long and 25 mm high, with a generous 130 mm between the fixation hole centres and 440 mm wires, which suits the mounting positions used across these models. It carries a single six-pin plug on five wires. Electrically it is rated at a maximum charging current of 50 A / 500 W with a minimum charging voltage of 14.5 V plus or minus 0.5 V, open circuit voltage held below 15 V, and an operating range of -20 C to 85 C. Every unit is tested before it ships. Please note that there are two possible regulators for the VS 1400 GL Intruder depending on the year of the machine: this regulator is the one that fits the 1996-2004 VS 1400 GL Intruder.

There are two possible regulators for the VS 1400 GL Intruder depending on the year of the machine. This regulator is the one that fits the 1996-2004 VS 1400 GL Intruder. If your machine falls outside those years, check the OEM number on your existing unit against 32800-12E01 and 32800-12E00 before ordering.

How do I know my old regulator has failed?
With the engine running, check the voltage across the battery terminals. A healthy system should reach a minimum charging voltage of 14.5 V plus or minus 0.5 V and hold below roughly 15 V. If the voltage never rises above resting battery level the rectifier side has failed; if it climbs well past 15 V the regulation side has failed and the battery is being overcharged.
