This is a brand new aftermarket AC/DC regulator rectifier supplied under RMSTATOR part number RMS020-101482. It is a direct replacement for the original unit fitted to the Suzuki Boulevard M50 VZ800 and to Yamaha DT, GT and Riva 80 models. The rectifier converts the alternating current produced by the stator into the direct current your battery and electrical system need, and the regulator half holds the charging voltage inside a safe window so the battery is neither starved nor boiled.

How do I know my old rectifier has failed?
The usual signs are a battery that will not stay charged, or the opposite - a battery that is being overcharged, gassing or running hot. Measured at the battery with the engine running, a healthy system on this part should be regulating at around 14.5 V plus or minus 0.5 V. A reading well under that, or one that climbs past 15 V, points at the rectifier regulator. Burnt or discoloured connector pins are another strong clue.
