This is a brand new aftermarket AC voltage regulator rectifier, supplied as a direct replacement for the original unit fitted across the Yamaha FX 1, GP, SJ Super Jet, VXR, Wave Blaster, Wave Raider, Wave Runner and XL ranges in 650, 700 and 760 cc, covering model years from 1990 through 2017. It is plug-and-play and a direct fit, mounting on the original 55 mm centre to centre fixings and connecting through the original four-pin, four-wire arrangement, so no assembly is required.
The unit is compact at 55 mm by 45 mm by 15 mm yet rated to a maximum charging current of 50 A or 500 W, and it holds a minimum charging voltage of 14.5 V plus or minus 0.5 V with open circuit voltage kept under 15 V. It is built with a higher grade of electric components, so the quality exceeds the OEM equipment it replaces, and all products shipped are tested. How do I tell whether my old regulator has failed?
