Voltage Regulator RM30601 for Yamaha VMax 750 / 800, TW 200 / 125 and Kawasaki Eliminator 125 / KL 250
Yamaha VMax 750 / 800 and TW 200 / 125 - Kawasaki Eliminator 125 and KL 250
Part RM30601 is a brand new DC voltage regulator rectifier supplied as a direct replacement for the original unit. RMSTATOR list it for the Yamaha VMax 750 and 800 and the TW 200 and TW 125, and for the Kawasaki Eliminator 125 and KL 250, cross referencing to Kawasaki part number 21066-1108 as well as a range of Yamaha numbers. It is a plug-and-play, direct fit component that requires no assembly.
The regulator rectifier rectifies the alternating current produced by the stator into direct current and regulates the resulting output, so the battery, lights and ignition receive a stable supply instead of a voltage that rises with engine speed. This is a compact unit built for smaller displacement charging systems, with a single plug carrying four pins and a maximum charging current of 25 A or 300 W.
The quality is stated to exceed the OEM equipment, with an improved heat sink, enhanced charging capabilities and higher grade electrical components throughout. All shipped products are tested. The package also includes the opposite connector for the main harness, which addresses the melting and corrosion commonly found on original connectors - a fault that will keep causing charging problems even after a new regulator has been fitted if it is not dealt with at the same time.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does this regulator need any modification to fit?
No. RM30601 is a plug-and-play, direct fit replacement with no assembly required. It uses a single plug with four pins and the fixation holes are 65 mm centre to centre. Compare your original part number against the cross reference list above to confirm the application.
What is included?
You receive the voltage regulator rectifier unit together with the opposite connector for the main harness. The extra connector is supplied because original harness connectors commonly melt or corrode, and replacing only the regulator leaves that fault in place.
How do I tell whether the old regulator has failed?
With the engine running, the battery should be seeing at least 14.5 V +/- 0.5 V. A reading that never rises above resting battery voltage indicates the unit is not charging; a reading above roughly 15 V indicates the regulation stage has failed and the battery is being overcharged. Corroded or heat damaged connector housings are a further sign.
What output is this unit rated for?
Maximum charging current is 25 A, equivalent to 300 W, with open circuit voltage held below 15 V. It is sized for the smaller displacement charging systems it is listed for and operates between -20 C and 85 C.
