How do I test a solenoid?
With the key on, check for battery voltage at the small trigger terminal. If voltage is present and the solenoid does not click, or clicks but passes no current to the large terminals, it has failed.
Is this a direct replacement?
Yes - the terminals, mounting and coil voltage match the original on the applications listed.
What causes solenoid failure?
Contact erosion from repeated arcing, plus corrosion on marine and outdoor applications. Sealed units last longer where salt water is involved.
Are terminal nuts and boots included?
Reuse the hardware and insulating boots from your original unit unless stated otherwise.
