SPLYT Technology is RMSTATOR's answer to the well-known charging system failures on these machines. Rather than pushing the whole charging load through a single stator winding and a single regulator, the kit uses a dual output stator carrying two completely separate three-phase coil windings. Power is split between two separate voltage regulators, so each one carries half the original load. The result is markedly lower operating temperatures and a large increase in reliability, with both regulators running with around 40 per cent overhead for long life.
The kit uses SERIES voltage regulators. A series regulator protects the battery from high voltage by disconnecting the stator coils from the regulator and preventing current from passing on, rather than shunting the excess to earth as heat, which is why it generates significantly less heat than a typical regulator. The supplied high output flywheel raises the system output from 650 W to 900 W, giving real headroom for winches, lights, heated gear and accessories. Every part in the kit is plug and play, and two automotive-grade relocation wiring harnesses with OEM-quality heavy-duty connectors are included so the regulators can be mounted where they get proper airflow.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does fitting the kit need modification to the machine?
All parts are plug and play, and the two relocation harnesses are supplied so the regulators can be mounted in a position with good airflow. Complete installation instructions are included in the kit.

How do I know my charging system has failed?
With the engine running the battery should see at least 14.5 V and stay below the 15 V open circuit limit. A flat battery after a day of winching or lights, a regulator too hot to touch, or a stator that fails the 0.5 ohms wire to wire resistance check are all signs the original system has given up.
What does splitting the output across two regulators achieve?
Heat is what kills charging systems. With two separate three-phase windings feeding two separate regulators, each regulator handles half the load and runs with about 40 per cent overhead. Combined with series regulation, which disconnects the coils instead of dumping surplus current as heat, the whole system runs far cooler than the original single-regulator arrangement.
