This is a brand new starter relay solenoid switch for Can-Am Outlander, Renegade, Spyder, Commander and Maverick machines and for the Ski-Doo Legend, Summit and Skandic, supplied as a direct replacement for your original unit. The relay is the heavy-duty switch that stands between the battery and the starter motor. Pressing the start button feeds a small current to the relay coil, which pulls a pair of large internal contacts together and lets the full starting current pass through to the starter. Those contacts carry hundreds of amps every time the engine is started, so they arc, pit and corrode over the years until they can no longer pass current cleanly.
