This is a brand new starter relay solenoid switch for the Suzuki GS range, from the GS250 right through to the GS1100, supplied as a direct replacement for the original unit. The starter relay is the heavy duty switch that connects the battery to the starter motor. When the start button is pressed, only a small current runs through the button and the handlebar wiring; that current energises a coil inside the relay, which closes a large set of internal contacts and lets the full starting load through to the motor.
