This is a brand new starter relay solenoid switch for 2002-2024 Kawasaki Jet Ski STX-12F and STX-15F, and Ultra 130, Ultra 250 and Ultra 260 personal watercraft. It is a direct replacement for the original solenoid, so it mounts in the same place and plugs into the existing harness without modification. Part number RMS090-101728 replaces Kawasaki OEM 27010-3777 and 27010-0860.
The starter relay solenoid is the heavy-duty switch that sits between the battery and the starter motor. When you press the start button the relay coil pulls in and closes a pair of high-current contacts, letting the full battery current reach the starter. Because it carries the entire cranking load it is one of the most heavily worked electrical parts on a ski, and burnt or pitted contacts are a common reason for a machine that clicks but will not turn over.
