This 12-volt, 3-terminal starter solenoid is built to OEM specification as a direct replacement for the unit fitted to Hitachi starter motors. Mounted on top of the starter, it is the electromechanical switch that pulls the drive gear into mesh with the flywheel and closes the heavy internal contacts that feed the starter motor with full battery current on every start.
