This is a brand new aftermarket 650W stator covering a wide span of the current Can-Am range - the Commander 800 and 1000 side-by-sides and the Outlander and Renegade 570, 650, 850 and 1000 ATVs from 2020 to 2025. It is a direct replacement for the original unit and fits plug-and-play, so the standard harness connects to it without modification and nothing needs to be cut, spliced or machined.
Construction follows the same specification RMSTATOR use across their premium stators: the highest grade of lamination materials, and the highest grade of copper winding, resistant to 200 degrees Celsius. The lead from the grommet to the plug is a full 1500 mm on this unit, which is what allows one part to serve both the side-by-side and the ATV chassis without extensions. RMSTATOR also include the opposite connector - the main harness side - because these are frequently found melted, corroded or defective and are a major cause of repeat electrical faults. The connectors and rubber grommet are supplied, and every stator is tested before it is shipped.

How do I confirm the stator has failed?
With the engine off and the plug disconnected, measure between the Yellow wires - this unit reads 0.3 ohms +/-20% between each pair. An open circuit, a near-zero reading, or continuity between any wire and the engine case all indicate a failed winding. A machine that runs and starts normally but keeps flattening its battery is the usual first symptom.
One part number covers both a side-by-side and an ATV - is that right?
Yes. Can-Am use the same charging system across these platforms, and the 1500 mm lead from the grommet to the plug is long enough to reach on both. Check the number on your original stator against the cross reference table above before ordering.
