This is a brand new aftermarket 850W stator for the Can-Am Defender HD10 LTD Cab and the Defender Max and Pro HD10 LTD Cab. It is a direct replacement for the original unit and fits plug-and-play, so the standard harness connects to it without modification and no machining or splicing is required.
The 850W rating matters on a cab machine. A Defender with a fitted cab typically also carries a heater, a wiper, work lights, a winch and often a stereo or a light bar, and the charging system has to carry all of it at low engine speeds while the machine is working rather than travelling. This unit is wound with the highest grade of copper winding, resistant to 200 degrees Celsius, on the highest grade of lamination materials. RMSTATOR also include the opposite connector - the main harness side - because these are frequently found melted, corroded or defective and are themselves a major cause of repeat electrical faults. The connectors and rubber grommet are supplied, and every stator is tested before it is shipped.

Does this need any modification to fit?
No. It is a direct plug-and-play replacement for the original stator, so the standard harness connects straight to it and nothing has to be cut or adapted.
What is included in the box?

How do I check whether my stator has failed?
With the engine off and the plug disconnected, measure between the Yellow wires - this unit reads 0.5 ohms +/-20% between each pair. Open circuit, near-zero, or continuity from any wire to the engine case indicates a failed winding. Repeated flat batteries on a machine that runs normally, especially one working with a cab heater and lights, is the usual first symptom.
Why is a spare harness-side connector supplied?
The connector on the main harness side is frequently found melted, corroded or otherwise defective, and it is a major cause of repeat electrical problems. Replacing it at the same time as the stator removes that fault from the system rather than leaving it to damage the new unit.
