Stator, Flywheel and Gasket Kit for Yamaha FZ1, FZS1, FZ8 800 and YZF R1
Yamaha FZ1 / FZS1 / FZ8 800 / YZF R1 2004-2015 - OEM replacement 2SH-81450-00-00 and 2D1-81410-10-00 - SKU RMS900-106628
This is a brand new aftermarket stator, flywheel and gasket kit, supplied as a complete charging system repair for the Yamaha FZ1, FZS1, FZ8 800 and YZF R1. Every component is a direct replacement for your original units, so the kit is plug-and-play with a direct fit and easy installation. The stator is built from the highest grade of lamination materials and the highest grade of copper winding, resistant to 200 degrees Celsius, and it ships with its connector and rubber grommet already fitted. A crankcase cover gasket is supplied in the box so the cover can be resealed properly during the same job.
The flywheel in this kit addresses a well known original equipment weakness: low quality epoxy was used on OEM flywheels to secure the magnets to the rotor body, and when that epoxy lets go the loose magnet destroys the stator behind it. This heavy duty replacement flywheel uses high temperature epoxy that is stronger than OEM, and adds a high grade steel capping so that even in the unlikely event a magnet did work loose it would stay contained in the sleeve rather than making contact with the stator windings. Replacing stator and flywheel together is the reason this kit exists - fitting a new stator behind a tired rotor is what causes the same fault to return. Every product shipped is tested before it leaves us.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does this kit need any modification to fit?
No. Each part is a direct replacement for the original unit, plug-and-play and a direct fit. The stator comes with its connector and rubber grommet already fitted, so no cutting or splicing of the loom is required.
What is included in the box?
The stator with its connector and rubber grommet, the heavy duty flywheel rotor, and the crankcase cover gasket needed to reseal the cover.
How do I tell whether my old stator has failed?
With the engine off and the plug disconnected, measure the resistance between each of the three white alternator wires. A healthy unit reads approximately 0.4 ohms +/- 20% between each pair. A reading that is open circuit, far out of tolerance, or that shows continuity to earth indicates a failed stator.
Why should I replace the flywheel at the same time as the stator?
Because the usual root cause is the flywheel, not the stator. The low quality epoxy on the OEM rotor lets a magnet move, and the magnet then wrecks the stator windings. Fitting a new stator behind the original rotor leaves that cause in place. The flywheel in this kit uses high temperature epoxy stronger than OEM plus high grade steel capping to keep the magnets contained.
