This is a brand new aftermarket stator covering an unusually wide group of machines: the BMW F and G 650, the Honda VT 500, the Suzuki VS 800, and the Yamaha XZ 550 and TDM 850, across model years from 1982 to 2011. The same three-wire, three-pin charging winding was used across all of these applications, which is why one part number carries such a long cross-reference list.
The original connector and grommet are reinstalled onto the new stator when fitting. Once they are transferred across, the unit is plug-and-play, a direct fit, and very easy to install with no modification required. Higher grade electrical components are used throughout and the copper winding is rated to 200 degrees Celsius. An additional connector for the main harness side is supplied, because that half is commonly found melted or corroded on a bike that has suffered a charging fault. Every unit is tested at the factory before shipment. The lead from the stator to the grommet is a generous 1220 mm.

Does this need any modification to fit?
No. Reinstall the original connector and grommet onto the new stator and it is plug-and-play and a direct fit. No cutting or splicing of the loom is required.
What is included in the box?
The stator unit and an additional opposite connector for the main harness side. The original connector and grommet from your machine are reinstalled onto the stator.
How can I tell my old stator has failed?
Disconnect the three stator wires and measure between each pair with a multimeter. Each pair should read approximately 0.2 ohms, within plus or minus 20 percent. Any pair reading open circuit, or any wire showing continuity to the engine case, means the winding has failed. A battery that will not stay charged while riding is the usual symptom.
How do I confirm this is the right part for my bike?
Because this stator spans four manufacturers, the most reliable check is the OEM number. Find the number on your original unit or in your parts manual and match it against the cross-reference table above before ordering.
