This is a brand new aftermarket stator built as a direct replacement for the original unit fitted to the Arctic Cat EXT 580 EFI, EXT 580 Mountain Cat, Pantera 580, Wildcat 700 and ZR 580 EFI between 1991 and 1996. It is a plug-and-play, direct fit part, so it mounts in the original position and connects to the existing loom without cutting, splicing or modification.
The unit is built on the highest grade of lamination materials and wound with the highest grade of copper winding, resistant to 200 degrees Celsius, which is what an original stator normally fails on after years of heat and vibration inside the flywheel. A connector is included with the part, and all products shipped are tested before they leave the warehouse. The stator measures 114 mm across the outside with a 51 mm interior diameter and a 15 mm thickness, and carries nine wires into four plugs.

How do I tell whether my old stator has failed?
Common symptoms are a battery that will not hold its charge, dim or flickering lights, a weak or absent spark, and an engine that cuts out. The quickest confirmation is a wire-to-wire resistance test against the figures in the specification table - readings well outside the stated tolerance, or an open circuit, point to a failed winding.
What resistance readings should I expect from this unit?
The alternator windings read approximately 0.4 ohms +/-20%, both from Yellow/Red to Yellow/Red and from Yellow to Brown. Source 1 reads approximately 45 ohms +/-20% from Black to Green, and Source 2 approximately 450 ohms +/-20% from Brown to Green.
