Stator for Arctic Cat Jag, Panther, Z & ZR
Jag 440, Panther 370 and 440, Z 370 and 440, ZR 440 Sno Pro, 1999 to 2008 - Part number RM01352
This is a brand new stator built as a direct replacement for the original charging and ignition source unit fitted to the Arctic Cat Jag 440, Panther 370 and 440, Z 370 and 440, and the ZR 440 Sno Pro from 1999 through 2008. It is a plug-and-play, direct fit part that uses the factory mounting pattern and the original wiring route, so the machine goes back together exactly as it came apart.
The unit carries eight wires across two connectors and combines the alternator charging windings with the ignition source coil, which is why a fault here can present either as a flat battery and dim headlight or as a machine that will not fire at all. It is built on the highest grade of lamination material and wound with the highest grade of copper, insulated to resist 200 degrees Celsius - an important margin on a fan-cooled sled that spends its life between deep cold starts and sustained high engine temperatures. The connector and the back plate are both supplied with the stator, and every unit is tested before it is shipped.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to modify anything to fit this?
No. It is a plug-and-play, direct fit replacement using the original two connectors and the factory mounting pattern. No cutting or splicing of the loom is required.
What is included in the box?
The stator, the connector and the back plate. Every unit is bench tested before shipment.
How can I tell my old stator has failed?
With the connectors unplugged, measure yellow to yellow for the alternator windings - a healthy unit reads about 0.4 ohms, plus or minus 20 per cent. Then measure Black/Red to White/Red for the ignition source coil, which should read about 180 ohms, plus or minus 20 per cent. An open circuit, a short to the case, or a reading well outside those figures means the stator has failed.
Why does this stator have two connectors?
The unit carries both the alternator charging windings and the ignition source coil, and Arctic Cat split those circuits across two plugs with a black jumper wire running between them. Both plugs must be reconnected for the machine to charge and to run.
