Stator for Arctic Cat 400 500 and Suzuki 500 Quad ATVs
Arctic Cat 400, 500, Bearcat 454, TBX 500 and Suzuki LTA / LTF 500 F Quadmaster and Quadrunner - 1996-2002
This is a brand new replacement stator (RMSTATOR part RM01054) built as a direct replacement for the original charging and ignition unit fitted to Arctic Cat 400 and 500 series ATVs and their Suzuki-built LTA and LTF 500 equivalents from 1996 to 2002. Installation is plug-and-play: the plugs, wire lengths and mounting pattern match the factory item, so the machine's harness does not need cutting or splicing.
RMSTATOR build this unit with a smaller diameter design specifically to reduce the amount of heat it generates in service - a useful change on a platform where stator overheating is the common failure mode. It is wound with the highest grade copper on the highest grade lamination material, with windings rated to 200 degrees Celsius, and is supplied complete with the pickup pulsar coil, connector and rubber grommet. Every unit is tested before shipping.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will this fit without modifying my wiring?
Yes. It is a plug-and-play, direct fit replacement using the same two plugs, seven pins and factory wire routing, so no cutting or splicing of the harness is required.
What is included in the box?
The stator, the pickup pulsar coil, the connector and the rubber grommet.
How do I know my old stator has failed?
Check the windings with a multimeter against the figures above: the alternator legs (Black to Black) should read about 0.4 ohms, the pickup (Blue to Green) about 200 ohms and the position sensor (White to Yellow) about 0.4 ohms, each within plus or minus 20 percent. An open circuit reading, a dead short, or continuity between any winding and the stator body means the unit has failed. A battery that will not hold charge and intermittent or absent spark are the usual symptoms.
Why does this stator have a smaller diameter than my old one?
That is deliberate. RMSTATOR reduced the diameter on this design to lower the heat the unit generates in service. It still mounts and plugs in exactly as the original does.
