Stator for Arctic Cat 250 and 300 and Suzuki LTF and LT-4WD
Fits Arctic Cat 250 and 300 1998-2005, Suzuki LTF 250, LTF 300 and LT-4WD 250 1987-2005 - Part RM01258
This is a brand new generator stator that covers two closely related families of utility quad. The Arctic Cat 250 and 300 built between 1998 and 2005 use the same Suzuki-derived engine and charging system as the Suzuki LTF 250 Quadrunner, the LTF 300 KingQuad and the LT-4WD 250, so one stator serves the lot. If you have ever wondered why an Arctic Cat and a Suzuki of that era share so many part numbers, this is the reason - Suzuki supplied the powerplant, and the electrical hardware came with it.
The stator mounts behind the flywheel inside the left engine case. Its alternator windings generate the alternating current that the regulator rectifier converts to DC to charge the battery and run the lights, and the integral pick-up coil provides the crank position signal for the ignition. Machines of this age are usually on their second or third stator by now, and the failure is almost always thermal: decades of heat cycling break down the original winding insulation until a phase shorts to the core. This replacement is a direct fit for the original, supplied plug-and-play with the pick-up pulsar coil, the connector and the rubber grommet already fitted. It uses the highest grade lamination materials and copper windings rated to 200 degrees Celsius, and every unit is tested before it ships.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will this fit without modification?
Yes. It is a plug-and-play direct fit for all of the listed Arctic Cat and Suzuki applications. The 41 mm bore, the 102 mm outer diameter and the two factory connectors match the original, so no cutting or splicing is needed. Match the number on your existing unit to one of those in the cross reference table before ordering.
What is included in the box?
The stator unit, the pick-up pulsar coil, the connector and the rubber grommet.
How do I know my old stator has failed?
Set a multimeter to ohms. Yellow to yellow should read about 0.4 ohms across each pair, plus or minus 20 per cent. Blue to green should read about 116 ohms, plus or minus 20 per cent, for the pick-up. A reading of open circuit, or any continuity between a winding wire and the stator body, confirms the unit has failed. Note that the pick-up resistance on this application is low compared with many other stators - 116 ohms is correct here, not a fault.
Why does one stator fit both an Arctic Cat and a Suzuki?
Arctic Cat used Suzuki engines in its 250 and 300 utility quads of this period, and the charging and ignition hardware came with the engine. That is why the Arctic Cat numbers 3430-021 and 3430-069 and the Suzuki numbers in the 32101-19B series all describe the same stator.
