Stator for Suzuki Boulevard S83 & VS 1400 GL Intruder
Suzuki Boulevard S83 and VS 1400 GL Intruder - 1987 to 2009
This is a brand new aftermarket stator built as a direct replacement for the original unit fitted to the Suzuki Boulevard S83 and the VS 1400 GL Intruder. It is a plug-and-play, direct fit part, so it installs into the standard mounting position and mates with the existing loom without cutting, splicing or modification. The assembly is supplied complete with its pickup pulsar coil already incorporated, which means the ignition trigger and the charging windings are replaced together in a single job rather than as two separate parts.
Construction uses the highest grade lamination materials and the highest grade copper windings, with the winding insulation rated to withstand 200 degrees Celsius. That temperature rating matters on a large air-cooled V-twin, where the stator sits inside the engine case and is heat-soaked continuously in slow traffic. Every unit is tested before it is shipped. The package also contains an additional connector for the main harness side of the plug, because the original harness-side connectors are often found melted, corroded or otherwise defective and are a major cause of repeat electrical faults - replacing the stator without replacing a damaged harness plug frequently leads to the same charging problem returning. Part number RMS010-100036.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will this fit without modification?
Yes. It is a plug-and-play, direct fit replacement for the original stator on the Suzuki Boulevard S83 and VS 1400 GL Intruder, 1987 to 2009. No cutting, splicing or drilling is needed. Before ordering, please confirm the OEM number stamped on your original unit matches one of the numbers in the cross reference table above.
What is included in the box?
The stator assembly with its pickup pulsar coil, the connector, the rubber grommet, and an additional opposite connector for the main harness side.
How do I tell whether my old stator has failed?
Measure the wire-to-wire resistance with the connector unplugged and compare it against the figures in the specification table. The alternator legs should read about 0.4 ohms yellow to yellow, and the pickup and source legs about 200 ohms. A reading that is open circuit, near zero, or well outside the plus or minus 20 per cent tolerance indicates a failed winding. Also check every leg for continuity to the engine case, as any reading to earth means the insulation has broken down.
Why is a second connector supplied?
The connector on the main harness side is often melted, corroded or otherwise defective by the time a stator fails, and it is a major cause of repeat electrical problems. Fitting the supplied replacement plug at the same time as the stator removes that fault source in the same job.
