Stator for Honda TRX 200 & TRX 200D Fourtrax 1990-1997
Direct-fit replacement stator - part RMS010-106239 - replaces Honda 31120-HF1-000 and 31120-HF1-004
The stator is the fixed winding assembly behind the flywheel that generates the alternating current your Fourtrax needs to charge the battery and feed the ignition. This unit carries an eight-pole, three-phase alternator winding plus a separate source coil, so when a winding shorts, goes open circuit or breaks down to earth the symptoms can be anything from a battery that will not hold charge to dim lights, a weak spark or no spark at all. It is built as a direct replacement for the original Honda unit and is supplied ready to bolt straight into the engine case.
The windings use high-grade laminations and copper wire with insulation rated to 200 degrees Celsius, well above what a crankcase-mounted stator normally sees in service. Fitment is plug-and-play - the original loom plugs straight in, so there is no cutting, splicing or re-pinning to do. The kit is supplied with the connectors and the rubber grommet already fitted, and RMSTATOR also include an extra connector for the main harness side, because corrosion in that harness plug is a common fault on machines of this age and is well worth renewing while the cover is off.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will this fit without modification?
Yes. It is a plug-and-play direct fit for the TRX 200 and TRX 200D Fourtrax in the years listed. The mounting pattern, the wire routing and the connectors match the factory unit, so the original harness plugs straight in with no cutting or splicing.
What is included in the box?
The stator unit with its connectors and rubber grommet already fitted, plus an extra connector for the main harness side. Gaskets, seals and the flywheel are not included.
How can I tell my old stator has failed?
Typical signs are a battery that keeps going flat, lights that dim or flicker with engine speed, and a weak or intermittent spark. Confirm with a multimeter against the figures in the specification table: each pair of yellow alternator wires should read about 0.4 ohms and the source coil about 250 ohms, both within 20%. An open-circuit reading, or continuity between any winding and the stator body, means the winding has failed.
Why is a spare harness connector supplied?
On machines of this age the plug on the main harness side is often corroded, and a corroded plug creates resistance that can mimic - or cause - a charging fault even with a healthy stator. The extra connector lets you renew that side of the joint at the same time rather than fitting a new stator into a bad connection.
