Stator Crankcase Cover Gasket

This is a brand new stator crankcase cover gasket, part number RM08023, made for the Kawasaki Ninja ZX 10 R of 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010. It cross references to Kawasaki 11061-0179. The gasket seals the joint between the stator cover and the crankcase on the left hand side of the engine, holding engine oil inside the cover while the stator and rotor run in it.

This is the gasket you need whenever the stator cover comes off - replacing a failed stator, changing a flywheel rotor, chasing a charging fault, or simply curing an oil weep down the side of the engine. A crankcase cover gasket is a single use item: once it has been crushed to shape and heat cycled it will not seal reliably a second time, which is why it should be renewed every time the cover is disturbed rather than refitted to save a few pounds. Leaving a tired gasket in place risks a slow oil leak onto the sprocket, the chain and the rear tyre.

Fitting is straightforward with the cover off. Clean both mating faces back to bare metal so no fragments of the old gasket remain, lay the new gasket dry unless your workshop manual specifies otherwise, and tighten the cover bolts evenly in a criss-cross pattern to the torque figure in the manual for your model.
