A brand new aftermarket stator, supplied as a direct replacement for the original unit on the Aprilia Shiver and Dorsoduro V-twins. It is plug-and-play and a direct fit, built on the highest grade of lamination materials and wound with the highest grade of copper, which is rated to withstand 200 degrees Celsius. Every product we ship is tested before it leaves us.
The pick-up pulsar coil is supplied already fitted to the assembly, and the connectors and rubber grommet are included. We also supply the opposite connector from the main harness side, because that half of the plug is very often melted, corroded or defective and is a major cause of repeat electrical issues. Will it fit without modification?
Yes. The stator is a direct replacement for the original unit on the models listed in the fitment table, so it mounts in the standard position and plugs into the standard connectors. No modification to the loom is required.
What is in the box?
The stator with its pick-up pulsar coil, the connectors, the rubber grommet, and the opposite connector for the main harness side so that both halves of the plug can be renewed at the same time.
How do I confirm my old stator has failed?
Typical symptoms are a battery that will not stay charged, warning lights or a dashboard that behaves oddly at higher revs, and eventually a no-start. With the engine off and the plugs disconnected, measure 0.4 ohms +/- 20% between each pair of yellow alternator wires and 272 ohms +/- 20% across the pickup, from yellow/white to yellow/blue. Readings well outside those figures, or continuity from any winding to the stator body, confirm the unit has failed.
Does one part number cover both the Shiver and the Dorsoduro?
Yes. Aprilia used the same charging assembly across the 750, 900 and 1200 Shiver and Dorsoduro platforms, and this stator replaces OEM reference 640168 on all of them. The dimensions listed above let you check the unit against your original before fitting.
