Frequently Asked Questions
Will it fit without modification?
Yes. It is a direct replacement to your original unit on the carburetted Arctic Cat models listed, with the original 38 mm bore, 99 mm outside diameter and 20 mm thickness, so it is plug-and-play and needs no machining or wiring changes.
What is included?
The stator with a connector included. All product shipped is tested before dispatch.
How do I tell whether my old stator has failed?
Typical signs on these sleds are a battery or lighting circuit that will not hold voltage, dim or flickering headlights, weak or intermittent spark and a machine that dies once it warms up. Measure the windings cold: the alternator should read 0.8 ohms +/-20% between the Yellow wires, and each source coil 16 ohms +/-20% - Green to Black and Green to Brown. An open circuit, a dead short, or continuity between any winding and the stator body confirms a failed unit.
Is this only for carburetted machines?
Yes. RMSTATOR list this stator for the carburetted versions of these Arctic Cat models. The two source coils at 16 ohms each are the giveaway - they feed the CDI ignition on the carburetted engines. Check the number on your original unit against 3005-636 or 3006-750 before ordering.
