This is a brand new aftermarket stator, supplied complete with its pick up pulsar coil, built as a direct replacement for the original unit fitted to Arctic Cat and Textron Wildcat Trail and Wildcat Sport 700 side-by-sides and to the Bearcat 3000 LT, Pantera 3000, Norseman 3000 and ZR 3000 snowmobiles built between 2014 and 2020. It is plug-and-play, a direct fit, and easy to install.
The stator uses the highest grade lamination materials and the highest grade copper windings, resistant to 200 degrees Celsius. A connector, a rubber grommet and the pick up pulsar coil are all included. The opposite connector for the main harness side is supplied as well, because that half of the plug is so often found melted, corroded or otherwise defective on these machines. Will this stator fit without modification?
Yes. It is described by the manufacturer as plug-and-play and a direct fit for the applications listed above, so no cutting, splicing or drilling is required.
What is included?
The stator assembly, the pick up pulsar coil, the connector, the rubber grommet, and the opposite connector for the main harness side.
How can I tell that my old stator has failed?
Unplug the stator and take three readings. Between each Black alternator wire you should see 0.4 ohms, plus or minus 20%. Brown to White on the pick up coil should read 100 ohms, plus or minus 20%. From any alternator wire to ground the meter should show O.L, meaning an open circuit. A shorted winding reads continuity to ground and the unit needs replacing.
Why is a second connector supplied?
The connector on the main harness side of these machines is frequently found melted, corroded or defective by the time the stator itself fails. Supplying the opposite connector means you can renew both halves of the joint in one go rather than fitting a new stator into a damaged plug.
