A brand new aftermarket stator built as a direct replacement for the original charging winding on the water-cooled BMW R1200 GS, R1200 R and R1200 RS. It is plug-and-play and a direct fit, so it goes back on the original fixings and plugs into the original harness without modification.
This is a large 21-pole assembly, 133 mm across the outside with a 60 mm interior diameter and 18 mm thickness. Three wires run 68 mm from the stator body to the grommet and a further 470 mm to a single three-pin plug. The windings use the highest grade of copper, rated to resist 200 degrees Celsius, laid on the highest grade of lamination materials. Connectors and a rubber grommet are included, and every unit is tested before it is shipped.

How can I tell my old stator has failed?
The usual signs are charging warnings, a battery that drains in use and charging voltage that does not rise above battery level with the engine running. On the bench, the resistance measured between each pair of the three yellow wires should be about 0.4 ohms within 20 per cent, and none of them should show continuity to the stator core.
