Generator Stator for Can-Am Commander, Maverick, Outlander, Renegade and Defender
Can-Am ATV and side-by-side models 2010-2021 - RMSTATOR reference RM01399
A brand new generator stator built as a direct replacement for the original unit fitted across the Can-Am Commander, Maverick, Outlander, Renegade and Defender ranges. It is an 18-pole, three-phase stator rated at 650 watts, matching the factory output so accessories such as winches, heated grips and light bars continue to draw from a charging system working as it should.
Fitting is plug-and-play: the 115 mm outer diameter, the 42 mm bore and the single three-pin plug follow the factory pattern, and the harness is generous at 1470 mm from grommet to plug, so the loom routes exactly as the original did with no cutting or splicing. The windings are the highest grade copper insulated to withstand 200 degrees Celsius, laid on the highest grade lamination stack. The connector and the rubber grommet are supplied fitted, and every unit is electrically tested before it is despatched. The photographs on this listing show the actual part - if you are in any doubt, compare it against your original before ordering.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will this stator fit without modification?
Yes. It is a plug-and-play direct fit for the Can-Am models listed above. The 115 mm outer diameter, the 42 mm bore and the single three-pin plug match the original, and the 1470 mm harness reaches the factory connector position, so no cutting or splicing is required. Check the number on your original unit against the cross reference table before ordering.
What is included?
The stator with its harness, the connector and the rubber grommet, supplied fitted. The flywheel, the stator cover and its gasket are not included and should be reused from your machine.
How do I tell whether my old stator has failed?
Measure across each pair of Yellow wires with a multimeter set to ohms - all three readings should be about 0.4 ohms, within plus or minus 20 per cent, and they should be close to each other. Then check each Yellow wire against the stator body: any continuity to earth means a phase has shorted. On these machines a dying stator normally shows as a battery that will not stay charged, a winch that stalls the electrics, or charging voltage that fails to rise above battery voltage with the engine running.
Is 650 watts enough for a winch and accessories?
650 watts is the factory rating for this stator across the Can-Am models it covers, so it restores the charging capacity the machine was designed around. It is worth replacing the voltage regulator rectifier at the same time if the old stator failed by shorting, since a damaged regulator is a common cause of a repeat failure.
