Generator Stator for Honda CR250R
2000-2001 - replaces Honda 31100-KZ3-J21
This is a brand new aftermarket generator stator, supplied as a direct replacement for the original unit on the Honda CR250R. Fitting is plug-and-play and needs no modification: the stator arrives with its connectors and rubber grommet already in place, so it goes straight back into the magneto cover on the original mounting points. On this eight-pole unit the pickup pulsar coil is supplied already mounted, so the ignition trigger is renewed at the same time as the charging windings.
It is built using the highest grade of lamination materials and the highest grade of copper winding, resistant to 200 degrees Celsius, so it holds up to the heat inside the ignition cover far better than a tired original. The package includes the pickup pulsar coil, the connectors, the rubber grommet and the back plate. All products shipped are tested before they leave the factory. Full dimensions, wire counts and winding resistances are listed in the table opposite so you can check the unit against your original before ordering.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does this stator need any modification to fit?
No. It is a plug-and-play direct fit for the original stator, supplied with the correct connectors and the rubber grommet already fitted, so there is no cutting, soldering or rewiring. Clean the sealing face of the magneto cover on reassembly and route the loom exactly as the original was routed so it cannot be caught by the flywheel.
What is included?
It is supplied with the pickup pulsar coil, the connectors, the rubber grommet and the back plate.
How can I tell my old stator has failed?
The usual signs are a weak, intermittent or completely absent spark, a machine that is hard to start when hot, a misfire that comes in as the engine warms through, or lighting output that has faded away. Measuring the windings against the resistance figures in the specification table will confirm it: an open circuit, a badly out-of-range reading, or continuity from any winding to earth all mean the stator has failed.
Why does this stator have three plugs and eight wires?
The assembly carries both the source windings that feed the ignition and the pickup pulsar coil that triggers it, split across three plugs and twelve pins in total. That is why the specification lists two separate resistance figures - 26 ohms on the source circuit between blue and white, and 259 ohms on the pickup between blue/yellow and green/white.
