Does this stator need any modification to fit?
No. It is a direct, plug-and-play replacement for the original unit on the 2002 and 2003 Honda CRF450R. The connector and rubber grommet are already fitted, so no cutting or splicing of the loom is needed.
What is included in the box?

How do I know my original stator has failed?
Check it with a multimeter. This unit reads 270 ohms +/- 20% white/green to blue/yellow across the pickup and 22 ohms +/- 20% white to blue across the source coil. A reading that is open circuit, shorted to earth, or well outside those figures points to a failed stator.
Is the pick up pulsar coil included, or do I move mine across?
The pick up pulsar coil is supplied with this stator and is already fitted to the assembly. You do not need to transfer the coil from your old unit.
