This is a brand new aftermarket generator stator supplied as a direct replacement for the original charging unit on the Honda CTX700 family. It is a plug-and-play, direct fit assembly built to the original 54 mm interior diameter, 124 mm exterior diameter and 20 mm thickness, with the original 120 mm lead from the stator to the grommet and the long 670 mm run from the grommet to the plug. It bolts into the standard stator cover and follows the original harness route to the original connector position, so nothing on the bike needs to be altered.
The unit is built on highest grade lamination materials and wound with highest grade copper windings that are resistant to 200 degrees Celsius. On the CTX700 the stator sits inside the engine case in hot oil, so the insulation class of the winding is what determines how long a replacement lasts and how well it copes with the constant heat cycling of commuting and touring use. The connector and the rubber grommet are both included, and every unit is tested before it is shipped.

How do I tell whether my original stator has failed?
With the plug disconnected, measure between each pair of yellow wires. Every combination should read 0.5 ohms +/- 20%. An open circuit on any leg, a reading well outside that band, or continuity between a yellow wire and the stator core or engine case confirms the stator has failed. A charging voltage that stays at resting battery level when the engine is revved points to the same conclusion.
