Generator Stator for Honda PC 800 Pacific Coast
Honda PC 800 Pacific Coast 1990-1998 - OEM replacement 31120-MR5-870 / 31120-MR5-871 - Part RMS010-103812
This is a brand new aftermarket generator stator built as a direct replacement for the original charging unit fitted to the Honda PC 800 Pacific Coast. The stator is the fixed set of copper windings that sits behind the flywheel and generates the alternating current your regulator-rectifier converts into the DC that charges the battery and runs the lights, ignition and instruments. When it fails, the symptoms are usually a battery that never fully charges, dimming headlights at idle, or a bike that runs on battery power alone until it stops.
The unit is a plug-and-play, direct fit assembly that uses the same mounting pattern, wire routing and connector as the original, so no cutting, splicing or modification of the loom is required. It is wound with the highest grade copper, rated to withstand 200 degrees Celsius, on the highest grade lamination stack, and it ships with the connector and rubber grommet already fitted. Every unit is tested before it leaves the warehouse. The opposite connector for the main harness side is supplied in the box as well, because the original harness plugs on machines of this age are very often melted, corroded or otherwise defective, and replacing only the stator side leaves a known cause of repeat electrical faults in place.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to modify anything to fit this stator?
No. This is a plug-and-play, direct fit replacement for the original unit. It uses the same lamination dimensions, the same three-wire output and the same connector as the part it replaces, so it bolts in and plugs straight into the existing loom with no cutting or splicing.
What is included in the box?
You receive the generator stator with its connector already fitted, the rubber grommet, and the opposite connector for the main harness side so you can renew both halves of the plug at the same time.
How can I tell whether my old stator has failed?
Measure the resistance between each pair of yellow wires with the connector unplugged. All three readings should be close to 0.4 ohms, within about 20 per cent of each other. A reading that is open circuit, or that differs sharply between pairs, points to a failed winding. Any continuity between a yellow wire and the engine casing indicates a short to earth and also means the stator has failed.
Why is a second connector supplied?
The connector on the main harness side is a common failure point on machines of this age - the pins overheat, melt or corrode, and the resulting high resistance destroys the next stator as well. Fitting the supplied opposite connector at the same time removes that risk rather than leaving it in the circuit.
