High Output 200 W Stator for Honda TRX 400 EX Sportrax & TRX 400 X
Honda TRX 400 EX Sportrax 1999-2008 and Honda TRX 400 X 2009, 2012-2014
This is a brand new 200 watt high output stator assembly for the Honda TRX 400 EX Sportrax and the Honda TRX 400 X. It is a direct replacement for the original unit, so it mounts in the same position, follows the same wire routing and plugs into the existing harness. Installation is plug-and-play with no modification, no rewiring and no drilling.
Rated at 200 watts, it delivers 20 percent more output over stock while working with all other OEM components, which makes it a straightforward upgrade for a machine running extra lighting, a winch, heated grips or other added electrical load. The assembly is built on the highest grade lamination materials and wound with the highest grade copper windings, resistant to 200 degrees Celsius. The pick-up pulsar coil, the connector and the rubber grommet are supplied with the unit, and every stator is tested before it is shipped.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to modify anything to fit the high output version?
No. Despite the increased output it remains a direct replacement for the original unit, with the same mounting, the same six wire layout and the same two plugs. It works with all other OEM components, so the regulator rectifier, CDI and harness stay as they are. Confirm the OEM part number on your existing stator against the cross reference table before ordering.
What is included in the box?
The stator assembly, the pick-up pulsar coil, the connector and the rubber grommet.
How can I tell that my old stator has failed?
Look for a battery that will not hold charge, dim or flickering lights, a machine that dies once the battery is drained, or a loss of spark. With the engine off and the unit unplugged, the alternator winding should read about 0.4 ohms, the pick-up about 230 ohms from blue/yellow to green/red, and the source coil about 90 ohms from black/red to brown. Readings well outside those figures, or continuity from any winding to the stator body, mean the stator has failed.
What does the extra 200 watts of output actually give me?
The 200 watt winding produces 20 percent more output than the stock stator across the rev range, which leaves more current available once the ignition and standard lighting have taken their share. That headroom is what keeps the battery charging on a machine carrying accessories such as auxiliary lights, a winch or heated grips, particularly during slow riding when engine speed is low.
