The RM01108 is a brand new high output aftermarket stator for the Honda TRX 450 R built in 2004 and 2005. It is a direct replacement for the original unit, fitting the standard mounting points and connecting to the existing harness, so installation is plug-and-play with no cutting, drilling or splicing. Output is approximately 20 percent higher than the standard stator and the part works with all other OEM components.
The stator is built on the highest grade lamination material and wound with the highest grade copper, resistant to 200 degrees Celsius. The pick-up pulsar coil, the connector and the back plate are included. How do I confirm the old stator has failed?
Test with a multimeter against the values above. The alternator should read about 0.4 ohms between each Yellow wire and show an open circuit from any Yellow wire to ground. The pick-up should read about 250 ohms from Green to Blue, the source coil about 36 ohms from Black/Red to Blue, and the second source about 7 ohms from Blue to White, each within 20 percent. Continuity to ground or readings far outside these bands confirm a failed stator.
Why does this stator have two source coil readings?
The TRX 450 R charging and ignition assembly includes more than one source winding, which is why the RM01108 carries 8 wires and lists two separate source measurements, 36 ohms from Black/Red to Blue and 7 ohms from Blue to White. Both should be checked when diagnosing an ignition or charging fault.
