This is a brand new aftermarket stator, built as a direct replacement for the original unit fitted to the Honda VT600 Shadow VLX 600. It is a plug-and-play, direct fit part that mounts in the original position and plugs into the original three-pin connector, so no modification of the wiring loom is required.
The core is made from the highest grade lamination materials and the windings are the highest grade copper, resistant to 200 degrees Celsius. This is a substantial cruiser stator at 115 mm exterior diameter and 32 mm thick, with 229 mm of lead from the body to the grommet and a further 432 mm from the grommet to the plug. The connector and rubber grommet are included, and we also supply the opposite connector for the main harness side, since the original is frequently melted, corroded or defective and is a major cause of repeat electrical issues. All products shipped are tested.

How do I tell if my old stator has failed?
With the stator unplugged, measure resistance between each pair of the three yellow wires - each pair should read 0.4 ohms +/-20%. Then check between any yellow wire and the engine case; there should be no continuity. An open circuit, an unbalanced reading, or a short to earth means the stator has failed. A flat battery after a long ride and discoloured windings are supporting evidence.
Should I replace the regulator/rectifier at the same time?
Test it before refitting. A failed regulator/rectifier can be what destroyed the original stator, and if it is left in place it can damage the new one. Confirm the three yellow wires read 0.4 ohms +/-20% between each pair and that charging voltage is correct once the new stator is installed.
