This is a brand new aftermarket stator, built as a direct replacement for the original charging unit fitted to the Honda VT 750 Shadow Aero and Shadow Spirit from 2004 to 2009. It is a plug-and-play, direct fit part: it mounts in the original position inside the engine case and connects to the existing main harness, so no cutting, splicing or modification of the loom is needed.
The unit is built on the highest grade lamination materials and wound with the highest grade copper, rated to 200 degrees Celsius. A connector, a rubber grommet and the opposite main harness connector are supplied with the stator, and every unit is tested before it is shipped. Will this fit my Shadow without modification?

What is included in the box?

How do I know the old stator is the problem?
The common symptom is a battery that will not stay charged, or that goes flat after a short ride, often with lights that dim at idle. You can check the old unit with a multimeter: resistance between the yellow wires should read about 0.3 ohms, plus or minus 20 per cent, and none of the three wires should show continuity to the stator body or to engine earth. An open circuit, a reading well out of that range, or a short to earth indicates a failed stator.
Is the Shadow Aero stator the same as the Shadow Spirit stator?
For the 2004-2009 model years both use the same unit, Honda part number 31120-MEG-003, which is what this stator replaces. Check the number on your original unit before ordering if you are unsure which version your bike carries.
