How do I confirm the old stator has failed?
With the plugs disconnected, measure between each pair of yellow wires. All three readings should sit near 0.4 ohms and within about 20 per cent of each other, and none of the yellow wires should show continuity to the engine casing. A single phase reading open, or an unbalanced set of readings, is a failed stator even if the bike still charges weakly.
