Ignition Stator for Honda XR 250 R
Honda XR 250 R (XR250R) 1996-2004 - OEM replacement 31120-KCE-671 - Part RMS010-101542
This is a brand new aftermarket ignition stator for the Honda XR 250 R, built as a direct replacement for the original unit. The stator plate sits behind the flywheel and carries the windings that both power the ignition and supply the lighting circuit. When the insulation on those windings breaks down, the usual symptoms are an engine that is hard to kick into life, a spark that disappears once the engine warms up, lights that flicker with engine speed, or a bike that simply cuts out and refuses to restart.
The assembly is plug-and-play and a direct fit: the 92.8 mm outer diameter, 35 mm bore, 8 mm stack and five-wire output through four plugs all match the factory part, so it locates on the standard mounting position and connects to the existing loom without cutting, splicing or re-terminating anything. It uses the highest grade of lamination materials and the highest grade of copper winding, resistant to 200 degrees Celsius, which is what this engine's air-cooled alternator cavity demands. The connector and rubber grommet are included, and every unit is tested before it is shipped.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does fitting this require any modification?
No. It is a plug-and-play, direct fit part. The plate dimensions, the five wires and the four plugs match the original, so it mounts in the factory position and connects to the standard loom with no cutting or splicing.
What is included in the box?
The ignition stator with its connector fitted, and the rubber grommet that seals the wiring where it exits the crankcase cover.
How do I tell whether my old stator has failed?
Unplug the connectors and take two readings with a multimeter. Red to yellow should be about 1.1 ohms and black/red to green about 160 ohms, each within roughly 20 per cent. An open circuit on either pair, a reading far outside tolerance, or continuity between a winding wire and the engine casing all confirm a failed stator. Readings that drift out of range only once the engine is hot point to breaking-down insulation.
Why does this stator matter so much on an XR 250 R?
The source coil on this plate feeds the ignition directly, so a fault there stops the engine running rather than just flattening a battery. That is why the 160 ohm source coil reading is worth checking first when an XR 250 R loses spark intermittently.
