This is a brand new aftermarket generator stator, built as a direct replacement for the original unit fitted to the Kawasaki KFX 90 and the Kymco Mongoose. It is a plug-and-play, direct fit part: it uses the original mounting points and the original connector, so no cutting, splicing or modification of the loom is required. The pick-up pulsar coil, the connectors and the rubber grommet are all supplied with the stator, so the complete assembly comes out and goes back in as one piece rather than being rebuilt around old, heat-tired components.
The stator is the part of the charging system that generates the AC current the regulator rectifier then converts to the DC current your battery and electrics run on. When a stator starts to fail the symptoms are usually a battery that will not hold its charge, dim or flickering lights, hard starting after a short ride, or an engine that runs progressively worse as the battery drains. This unit is wound with eight poles and carries three wires into a single three pin plug, matching the original layout. Every unit is tested before it is shipped.

How do I know my old stator has failed?
The usual signs are a battery that will not stay charged, dim or flickering lights, hard starting and an engine that runs worse the longer it is ridden. You can confirm it with a multimeter: measure the resistance across the alternator wires and the pick-up and compare the readings with the values in the specification table above. A reading far outside those figures, or an open circuit, points to a failed winding.
Is the pick-up pulsar coil really included?
Yes. On this unit the pick-up pulsar coil is supplied fitted to the stator plate, with 30 mm of wire running to the grommet, so you do not have to transfer the coil from your old assembly.
